Though facing imminent homelessness, Jack secures a job as a paperboy, showcasing an innate talent for selling newspapers both on trains and to subscribers. Over the ensuing years, he thrives in this role, developing a keen interest in advertisements, meticulously studying each paper.

Renting a modest room in Manhattan, Jack transforms it into a haven of creativity adorned with paper-clipped advertisements covering every inch of the walls. His obsession with drawing and refining his skills grows, and, spurred by his passion, he begins to offer his artistic talents to small businesses. Jack's portfolio becomes a testament to his fighter spirit, especially he shows talent for redesigning logos and storefront materials for local establishments.

Jack's advertising agency flourishes, attracting a myriad of clients seeking his distinctive touch.
